Any local camera shops, or any low-end companies, advertising film scanning will tell you that your film doesn't have over 480 lines of resolution and that a frame by frame or real-time machine will give you all you need from your film is simply not informed. We run into this a lot. They either truly don't know or don't have the equipment to do anything better. Once informed our customers tend to do our Pro HD 1080p or Pro 2K process to get 100% of their Super 8 film.
It is nice and convenient to convert your Super 8 film to digital video on DVD or other formats for ease of use. Most of our customer will want their Super 8 put to DVD. But you also want to consider a higher resolution, higher quality format like BluRay or HD-AVI/ProRes Editing files. These higher resolution formats will preserve the resolution of the film better than Super 8 to DVD would.
Super 8 film came in the mid 1960's and can have 1 or 2 audio tracks as well. Don't worry, if your Super 8 film has audio, we can get it. So, we can not only convert Super 8 to DVD, but can convert it with the single track or dual sound track as well.
We can transfer Super 8 film to DVD, AVI files, Blu-Ray, HD-AVI, ProRes 422 and DPX. Super 8 Film to DVD is the most common film transfer service we perform.
